HELPING INDIVIDUALS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM, AND OTHER LEARNING DIFFERENCES, TRANSITION TO
SUCCESS
ABOUT ME
I have been fortunate to have over 10 years of experience in working with youth, adolescents, and adults with learning differences, with a specific expertise in working with individuals on the autism spectrum transitioning to adulthood. I specialize in providing guidance to individuals and their families in developing vocational, social, educational, and independence skills. Having recently moved from San Jose, California to Nashville, TN, I also am experienced with assisting families in accessing essential supports and services provided through state agencies such as:
-
Regional Centers and Department of Rehabilitation in California
-
Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Vocational Rehabilitation in Tennessee
-
Privately funded and non-profit community agencies in both California and Tennessee
I received my B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, and my M.A. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Psychology from UCLA. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area from Los Angeles in 2015, I ran a community college transition program for students with learning differences and other special needs, and previously coordinated an individualized, life coaching program for Regional Center clients at a non-profit community agency in San Jose. Currently, in Nashville, I work as an Educational Consultant in the Special Education Department of a University.
My passion for working with individuals with special needs stems from having an older sibling with autism, which has provided me with great understanding and appreciation when working with individuals and families.
